The Ligue of the Champions 2007-2008 will be the 53e edition of the tournament of Football and the sixteenth pennies the current format. The final will be played Stade Loujniki with Moscow in May 2008.

Turns of qualification

First turn of qualification

The drawing lot took place the June 19th. The matches to go took place July 17th and 18th, the matches return July 24th and 25th 2007. The fourteen gaining teams are qualified for the second Preliminary round.

Second round of qualification

The drawing lot took place the June 29th 2007.

The matches to go took place the July 31st and it and the matches return the 7 and August 8th 2007.

Third turn of qualification

The drawing lot took place the August 3rd 2007.

The matches to go took place the 14 and August 15th and the matches return the 28 and August 29th 2007.

The winners qualify themselves for the phase of groups; eliminated are qualified for the first tower of cut UEFA.

Qualified clubs

For the drawing lot of the phase of groups, the August 30th 2007 with Monaco, the teams are distributed between four hats according to their Coefficient UEFA.

A group is composed of a team of each hat.

The 16 winners of the preceding turn, the champions of the 10 federations classified between 1st and the 10th rank of the classification UEFA as well as the vice-champions of the 6 federations classified between 1st and the 6th rank are divided into eight groups of four teams. Each team plays twice against the three other teams of the group.

In the event of equality

According to paragraph 4.05 of the payment of the UEFA of this season, in the event of equality in a group at the end of the six matches, one uses to decide between the teams six criteria including five on the matches of group: first of all points obtained in the particular matches (1), then the difference in goals in the particular matches (2), then the number of goals outside in the particular matches (3), then the difference in goals (4), the number of goals (5), and finally the coefficient UEFA (6).

The drawing lot will proceed the December 21st 2007 with Nyon.

The matches to go will take place the 19 and February 20th 2008, the matches return the 4 and March 5th 2008.

The eight gaining teams will be qualified for the quarterfinals.
