Leaded mocker
The Moqueur leaded ( Mimus saturninus ) is famous for its vast repertory of songs including/understanding of the imitations of other species.
Description
The mocker leaded is a maroon Oiseau with the clearer belly and a band dark chestnut at the level of the eyes. It measures approximately 25 cm.
Food
It nourishes mainly Invertébré S (ants, termites, beetles) and fruits wild (of small size and entirely swallowed) or cultivated (oranges, lawyers). The seeds are not digested, cross intact the digestive tract, and are dispersed in nature. The greatest part of the food is taken on the ground, more rarely while jumping, in flight or starting from a perch.
Reproduction
The bird makes a nest of dry brushwood in the shape of not very thick bowl on the trees and the shrubs, even on larger nests given up by other birds. The female lays 2 to 3 eggs green-blue, with tasks chestnut. It broods sometimes eggs of other species. The couple is helped by a third or fourth individual, perhaps resulting from a preceding range. They maintain the other birds with the variation of the nest.
Behavior
The species lives in bands which can reach 13 individuals. In the south, they rather tend to form couples. One of the characteristics of the kind is the tremor of wings ( wing flashing / lampejo of asas ) which agitates the bird in various circumstances without it being possible to determine the cause for this species of it whereas for Mimus polyglottos , this attitude is more related to the capture of the preys.
