Lead hydroxide
Lead, soluble in the nitric Acid , is slightly attacked with room temperature by the sulphuric Acid and the Hydrochloric acid . When the Plomb is put in the presence of Acid sulphuric, it is formed a protective coating of Sulfate, which protects metal from the acid attack.
In the air, it reacts slowly with water to form the Hydroxyde lead. Ordinary water often contains salts of lead which settle on the conduits, thus preventing the formation of the soluble lead hydroxide Pb (OH) 2 white.
