Leaching on the Heap
The Lixiviation on the heap (in English Heap leaching ) is a technique of ore processing poor of Or up to 0,7 grams of gold per ton of ore, development in the USA.
It consists in depositing the crushed ore and sinter in a broad rectangular pit.
The pit ( leache pad ) is waterproofed by two layers of thick plastic film of 0,5 mm, crossing of system of gutter converging towards the point low of the pit where a pump is installed.
This system allows the collection of the lixiviat.
On the heap one lays out a system of drop by drop which percole a solution of Cyanure of sodium. The lixiviat rich in gold is sent towards activated carbon columns which absorb gold.
Finally metal gold is recovered by electrolysis after elution of coal.
