Signed by a scenario writer remained obscure, first large “thriller” with monsters, Le Monde lost constitute a draft of famous but later the King Kong : just like Challenger brings back a Brontosaure to London, Karl Denham will bring back Kong to New York. Moreover, the special effects hold in two films a big role, and in both, it will be Willis O' Brien which will be occupied some.

Turning required the use of some fifty small-scale models of Dinosaure S, built in a little more than one year by the Mexican Marcel Delgado. These figurines consisted of a steel reinforcement, covered with sponge and skin of rubber animal. Certain animals had a breathing apparatus manufactured using a bladder of soccer ball…

With regard to the movements of the prehistoric animals, it is interesting to note that each minute of projection required 960 images representing as many movements slightly different from one or several figurines, a colossal work of patience which took fourteen months. It was then necessary to turn the sequences with the real actors in order to superimpose them on the already recorded action, by the technique of the Animation image by image.
