Le Monde libertarian
Le Monde Libertaire is the body Mensuel then Hebdomadaire of the anarchistic Fédération. It is fifty years old of existence and nearly 110 years of age.
Le Monde libertarian is claimed, among others like the Libertarian , of the Libertarian created in 1895 by Sebastien Faure, and whose ancestor goes back to 1858.
Joseph Déjacque creates the Libertarian in 1858 with the the United States whereas he is writer and journalist taken refuge in the United States after the coup d'etat of the December 2nd 1851 of Louis-Napoleon Bonaparte. It appears until in 1861.
The November 16th 1895, Sebastien Faure and Louise Michel take again the publication in France until 1899 when the weekly magazine is replaced by a daily newspaper: the Newspaper of the people. This one, which will be devoted especially to the Affaire Dreyfus and the lawsuit of Rennes, will appear until December (299 numbers). As from August of the same year, the “illustrated” Libertarian appears weekly like supplement with the daily newspaper. He will continue his life with the stop of this last until August 1914 when its positions antimilitarists oblige it to cease his publication, after 960 numbers.
After a refractory attempt in 1917 , the publication begins again in 1919 and without interruption until in 1939, the publication must stop with the war. It will be, of December 1923 at March 1925, once again daily for 479 numbers.
The December 21st 1944, the Libertarian reappears initially according to an irregular publication then semi-monthly due to the paper restrictions. It regains its weekly shape as from April 1946. It is the golden age of the Libertaire , where collaborate then inter alia Georges Brassens - which will be even one of permanent newspaper -, Léo Ferré, André Breton, Armand Robin and Albert Camus.
The FCL and its body the Libertarian , which support the Algerian freedom fighters then, are sifted debts due to the lawsuits brought by the French State. At the time of the national council of July 17th, 1956, the FCL is solved with " suspendre" the publication of the Libertarian … which will never reappear.
Following the organisational crisis of 1954, an anarchistic Federation was reconstituted and created Le Monde libertarian . The crisis was lasts and Le Monde libertarian will remain monthly until in 1977, year when it becomes again weekly.
In 2003 the newspaper takes a new form and appears now in quadrichromy in a format magazine.
In October 2004, Le Monde libertarian breath his fiftieth candle. To celebrate the event is published a collection of articles (more than 400 pages) under the title And yet they exist! 1954-2004: Le Monde libertarian is 50 years old , editions seeks It midday.
