Leštane
Leštane , in Serb Cyrillic Лештане, is a locality of Serbia located in the municipaity of Grocka, district of Belgrade. In 2002, it counted: 8492 inhabitants, of which a majority of Serb.
Leštane is located at 15 km in the east of Belgrade to the confluence of the Kaluđerički potok and the river Bolečica. In Serb, the name of the city means " the thicket of noisetiers".
Presentation
Leštane knows a population growth among fastest of the suburbs of Belgrade (: 6681 inhabitants in 1991). In spite of that, the city is still classified among the rural localities. This growth is in particular due to an surge of immigrants coming from the Kosovo. According to the statistical estimates, the city would count today some: 15000 inhabitants. The living conditions of these new arrivals are sometimes rudimentary.
Novo Naselje
Novo Naselje (into Cyrillic: НовоНасеље , the " news localité") indicate the part is of Leštane, located at the same time on the Smederevski could and Kružni could . This zone, in full expansion, connects from now on Leštane in Kaluđerica (and consequently in Belgrade), Vinča and Boleč. In the years 2000, Leštane started to extend to the west in direction from Bubanj Potok.
