Laylat Al-Qadr

Laylat Al-Qadr or Night of the Destiny (Arab: لَيْلَةِالْقَدْرِ) is one of the nights at end of the month of the Ramadan during which Coran affirms that it was revealed with Mohammed by the angel Gabriel (Jibrīl) " Admittedly, one in Sourate 97, verse 1-5, " read; We reduced it (Coran) during the night from Al-Qadr" or, Sourate 44.2-3." By the Book (Coran) explicit. We reduced it in one night blessed, We are in truth That which avertit". The revelation of the Coran was gradually fragmented over one period 23 years, that is to say of 610 until the death of Mohammed (Peace on Him), in 632, in order to facilitate the comprehension and the assimilation of the crowned texts. But also to take account of the later evolutions of the Community of the first Moslems. The verses were indeed revealed gradually according to the interrogations of the contemporaries of Mohammed (Peace on Him). One finds many verses which start with the formula: " They question you on the wine. Say… " , " They question you on the menstrues" , etc

The Night of the Destiny is generally in the ten last nights of the month of Ramadan, more precisely in the odd nights of this month. It varies from one year to another according to certain revealing signs. This blessed night is very observed by the Moslems, and are invited to make invocations, prayers, to recite Coran, and be sorry for the made sins.

The Sourate 97 destiny (Al-Qadr) is devoted to the Night of the Destiny.
