Lawsuit of the Six

The lawsuit of the Six is a lawsuit being unrolled in Greece in 1922, at the conclusion of the gréco-Turkish Guerre and the Grande catastrophe ( Μικρασιατική καταστροφή ).

The Prime Minister places from there Petros Protopapadakis, the former Prime Ministers Nikolaos Stratos and Dimitrios Gounaris and the generals G.Baltatzis, Nikolaos Theotokis and Hatzianestis are the six personalities misent in question in the defeat of the conflict gréco-Turkish which generated the loss of Smyrna and the minor Asia. Judged by Alexandros Othonaios and Theodoros Pangalos, the six men are considered to be responsible for the defeat of Greece and are condemned to death. The Prime Minister for the moment, Alexandros Zaimis decides to resign with the advertisement of the news of their execution. Execution with place on November 15th, 1922 in spite of a telegram of Eleftherios Venizelos, former Prime Minister, then in exile in Paris. Following this lawsuit, Constantin Ier of Greece, also judged to him responsible for the defeat and which had already abdicated on September 27th, is exiled with its family in Great Britain in December 1922.
