Laws known as Pasqua-Debré
The laws known as Pasqua-Debré are two French laws adopted in 1986 (government Jacques Chirac II) and 1997 (government Alain Juppe II) with an aim of controlling the Immigration:
- the law n° 86-1025 of the September 9th 1986 relating to the conditions of entry and stay from abroad in France, known as “law Pasqua” in reference to the Minister of Interior Department then in function, Charles Pasqua;
- the law n° 97-396 of the April 24th 1997 carrying various relative tendencies with immigration, sometimes known as “law Debré” in reference to the Minister of Interior Department in function Jean-Louis Debré.
