Lois McMaster Bujold (born the November 2nd 1949 in the Ohio) is a American writer of Science-fiction and Fantasy. It was technician of pharmacy in a hospital during a few years, and its first books (the first 3 tome cheeses of the saga Vorkosigan) were accepted by Baen books, its editor, in 1985.
Bujold is famous for its saga whose hero is Miles Vorkosigan, an interplanetary spy and an admiral mercenary of the planet Barrayar, approximately in 3000 of our era. The saga exploits kinds and varied sub-genera of the science fiction. The first novels belong to the tradition of the Space operated ; in last volumes, Miles becomes an investigator. Ekaterin , is a history of love in the high society combined with a plot. The saga is characterized by psychology from its characters and their complex natures.
Bujold gained the Prix Hugo better novel four times, exploit only equalized by Robert Heinlein. It also gained the Prix Nebula of the best novel, and its news the mountains of mourning gained the two prices. In the fantasy category, the Plague of Chalion was rewarded by the Mythopoeic Award and was nominated for the World Fantasy Award , but it is Paladin of the Hearts which brought back its fourth Hugo to him.
Bujold resides in the Minnesota. She is divorced and has two children.
