The lawrencium is a chemical element, of symbol Lr and atomic number 103. Product artificially in 1961 per Albert Ghiorso, Torbjørn Sikkeland, Almon E. Larsh and Robert Mr. Latimer (the USA). It bears the name of Ernest Orlando Lawrence, which discovered the principle of the Cyclotron in 1929.
