The Major Lawrence Washington (1659 - 1698) was the grandfather of George Washington. Lawrence was born in 1659 with Bridges Creek in the Comté from Westmoreland in Virginia. He married Mildred Warner, girl of Augustine Warner II, around 1686 with Warner Hall in the Comté of Gloucester in Virginia.

• John (1692-1746), married the half-sister of the great-grandfather of John Charles Frémont

• Augustine (1693-1743), the father of George Washington

• Mildred, ancestor of the general George S. Patton and of Agnes Barton, one of the women of Samuel Eliot Morison
