Lawrence Kubie

Lawrence S. Kubie (1896-1973) is a neurologist and known Psychothérapeute American in particular for its work on the Hypnose.

Biography

In its articles of 1930 and 1941, Kubie proposes the theory of the “closed circuits reverberating” like possible neurophysiological base of the neuroses, which was taken again by Warren McCulloch. John Z. Young tested this theory on octopus and its work was discussed at the time of the 9th Macy conference.

Kubie takes part in the Conférences Macy of 1942 to 1953. At the time of the conferences, it unceasingly gives on the carpet the question of the seat of the concept of Inconscient and must often face the other participants. “ Or an event occurs, or it does not occur ” him rétorque in particular Arturo Rosenblueth.

Kubie played a very important part to make known work on the Hypnose of Milton Erickson, with which it Co-signed several articles.
