Law 14 of football: kick of repair

The article Law 14 of football: kick of repair states the law 14 of football and presents various considerations relative to this law. The law 14 refers to the kick repair.

With the Football, the laws of football is the name given to the rules of the game of football. They are decided on the level of the International Football Association Board (IFAB); the last version goes back to 2000.

A kick of repair (or penalty ) penalizes, in Football, the team which makes, in her own penalty area and whereas the balloon is concerned, one of the ten faults for which a frankly direct blow must be granted.

A goal can be marked directly on kick of repair.

An additional time must be granted for any kick of repair having to be carried out at the end of each period of the prescribed time or at the end of each of the two periods of the prolongation.

Respective positions of the balloon and the players

The balloon:

is placed on the point of the kick of repair.

The player carrying out the kick of repair:

is clearly identified.

The defending goalkeeper of the team:

remains on its own line of goal, vis-a-vis the executant, between the amounts of the goal, until the balloon was boot. It has the right to be driven on its line.

All the players other than the executant are:

within the limits of the playing field,

apart from the penalty area,

at least to 9,15 m of the point of repair.

The referee

should not give the signal of the execution before the players did not give an opinion in accordance with the Law,

decides when the kick of repair is regarded as carried out.

Execution

it should not play the balloon one second time before this one was not touched by another player,

When a kick of repair is carried out or must be repeated during time lawful or during the additional time envisaged at the end of the period or the end of the match for to allow its execution or its repetition, the goal is granted if, before passing between the amounts of the goal and under the transverse bar:

the balloon touches one or the other or the two amounts and/or the transverse bar and/or the goalkeeper.

Infringements/Sanctions

If the referee gave the signal of the execution of the kick of repair and that, before the balloon is not concerned, the following situations occur:

The player carrying out the kick of enfreint repair Laws of the Play:

the referee lets carry out the blow,

if the balloon penetrates with an aim, the kick of repair will be started again,

if the balloon does not enter with an aim, the kick of repair will not be started again.

The goalkeeper enfreint Laws of the Play:

the referee lets carry out the blow,

if the balloon penetrates with an aim, the goal is granted,

if the balloon does not enter with an aim, the kick of repair will be withdrawn.

A fellow-member of the executant penetrates in the penalty area, will place himself in front of the point of repair or approaches with less than 9,15 m the balloon:

the referee lets carry out the blow,

if the balloon penetrates with an aim, the kick of repair will be started again,

if the balloon does not enter with an aim, the kick of repair will not be started again,

if the balloon, after being pushed back by the goalkeeper or the transverse bar is touched by this player, the referee stops the play and makes take again the match by a frankly indirect blow in favor of the opposing team.

A fellow-member of the goalkeeper penetrates in the penalty area, will place himself in front of the point of repair or approaches with less 9,15m balloon:

the referee lets carry out the blow,

if the balloon penetrates with an aim, the goal is granted,

if the balloon does not penetrate with an aim, the kick of repair will be started again.

One or more players of the team defending and assailing enfreignent the Laws of the Play:

the kick of repair will be started again.

If, after the shooting of the kick of repair, the executant touches the balloon one second time (otherwise than with the hand) before this one was touched by another player:

a frankly indirect blow is granted to the opposing team which must be carried out at the place where the fault was made.

The executant seizes the balloon of the hands deliberately before this one was not touched by another player:

a frankly direct blow is granted to the opposing team which must be carried out at the place where the fault was made.

The balloon comes into contact with a foreign body on its trajectory:

the kick of repair will be started again.

The balloon after being pushed back by the goalkeeper, an amount of the goal or the bar transversal, falls down in the playing field where it is then touched by a foreign body:

the referee stops the play,

the play begins again by a ball with ground at the place where the balloon was at the time when it was touched by a foreign body.
