Geography

Lavoine is the southernmost commune of the department Allier, but it is also that where the culminating point is: Puy de Montoncel.

History

At the beginning of the XIXe century, Lavoine belonged to the commune of Tool bags on Sichon. In 1837, inhabitants of the hamlet of Lavoine and villages close (Pawn, Puy.) undertake the construction of a church because in winter, they could not achieve their religious duties. For that, many inhabitants meet around Me Carlier, notary with Laprugne, where they establish the constitutive instrument of this church, on December 24th, 1837, in which one meets the gifts of the future parishioners of Lavoine, thus forming a total of 1548 francs. Creation of the commune of Lavoine in 1881
