History
Lavernose : Toponym Gallo-Roman Vernosolum, whose name could itself come from the alders or alders, very many on banks of the Louge.
Laced : From which the word comes from Laced which was written " Break-in with the début" of 1800? The documents could provide us a etymology some and, we do not know any no, unless making derive the word drives out " The casso" in Patois. In this case one can suppose as the country was very giboyeux, than the inhabitants of Vernosolem often came to hunting on this side and than they ended up indicating the place under the name Casso and thereafter Breakage. There are authentic parts to reconstitute the history of Laced.
Lavernose-laced: With the Gallo-Roman time, Vernosolum is a station on the Roman Voie connecting Tolosa (Toulouse) to Lugdunum Convenarum (Saint-Bertrand-with-Comminges).
At the beginning of the 12th century, the Prieuré Saint-Pierre de Vernosol is built on the site.
At the 13th century, the count de Comminges and the Prieur of Saint-Pierre sign an act of paréage which creates and delimits the country house of Lavernose, but does not relate to Lacasse whose grounds are pledged by the king. After construction with the XVIe century " fort and house of the Lord of Vernose" the protection of the " country and of the circonvoisins" places; is assured.
With the XVIIe Seigneurie is divided. Then with the Révolution is made the transitory meeting of the two " communes; in the interest of the Republic! ".
In spite of the abandonment of new projects during the 19th century, the two communes already joined together in the same parish, decide to amalgamate: March 19th, 1964 is born the commune Lavernose-Laced. The Castle, become municipal property, shelters the Mairie.

the church of Lavernose dates from the 12th century. The bishop of the Comminges devotes it in 1136 and places it under the term of Saint Pierre and Saint Paul the 6 of the calends of May. The Reliquaire is in the pillar of the medium, posterior with the Révolution.
In 1259, a country house is formed around the church. The turn is built with the XIXe century with a staircase of access to the Clocher which before passed inside. The ceiling and the frame date from the XVIe century.
Strong massive construction outside, it is doubled buttresses which leave the base and rise to the roof. Its low sides are with the height of the Nef, principal characteristic of the area.
Of Byzantine Architecture, it has 3 naves with 5 spans finished by a Abside surrounded by absidioles. The vaults go back to 1827 and rest on 12 pillars and 14 pilasters. The first 4 pillars support the vault of the Clocher, the 4 last with columns are crowned of elegant capitals. The harmony is successful.
The gate appears with curve in semicircular arch without tympanum. On the western and northern frontages, one notices Chrisme S (carved Christian symbols). The Peinture S of the XIXe century represent the religion of the time.
The openings were increased with 17th and 18th centuries, the sacristy built at the 19th century as well as the collateral ones.

the Town hall
As of 1594, the Château of Lavernose is mentioned in parts of files relating to the wars of religion. It belongs under the Ancien Mode to Durand de Rivalet then to the Marquis E Descodeca of Boisse. Very damaged during the Revolution, it is repurchased in 1822 per Ambroise Campardon, then restored by his Raymond son.
In 1956, the descendants of the Campardon family sell it with the municipality which transforms it into Mairie.
The low parts of the turns of the porch of entry present pieces of ordnance and a corbelling of the end of the 19th century, with a terra cotta decoration of the house Virebent which presents antéfixes, a balustrade and a panel with rollings up, sheets of Acanthe S and characters Mythologique S.

the vault Our-Lady-of-the-Compassion , 1817
Dedicated to Notre-Dame of the Compassion, the Chapelle is announced in various files as of the 17th century, but is undoubtedly largely former. The building of the Ancien Mode does not survive the decrees of the Revolution which order to preserve only one church by Paroisse.
The Vault, such as it is preserved and which carries above the main door the date of 1817 is entirely rebuilt at the beginning of the Restoration, initially on a rectangular level, then in 1853 on a cruciform level. Its frontage presents a niche sheltering a statuette of the terra cotta Virgin and ends in a small pinnacle.
Begun in 2002, the work of restoration is completed. After long months behind the scaffolding, our vault of the Saint-Hubert district reappears of his old rough coats. The elements external of decoration (Bell, Statue of the Virgin , main door) were given in state by voluntary people.
