Lavernay

Lavernay is a common French, located in the department of the Doubs and the area Franche-Comté.

Geography

Lavernay is located in the wooded valley of Breuil at about fifteen kilometers of its prefecture: Besancon.

Places and monuments

Lavernay has a splendid bell-tower recently renovated. There existed at the base only one vault built at the 14th century. The church under the term of saint Ironwood and Ferjeux is built into 1776/1786. It is rebuilt in 1865, except the bell-tower of 18th which is preserved. The end of work goes back to 1875.
