Laverda (Agricultural machinery)

The Laverda company was created in 1873 by Pietro Laverda with San Giorgio de Perlena to produce and market Farm equipment , viticultural as of the Horloge S for Clocher S. This company will become, with the passing of years, one of the world specialists in the agricultural mechanization of very high technology and in particular the reaping-machines threshing-machines. Laverda is known in the whole world. After integratebeing integrated in FiatAgri, then in FIAT-NewHolland, Laverda has being yielded after injunction of the commission anti trust European following the repurchase of American Case by FIAT-NewHolland in 1999.

History

  • 1873 : creation of the company Pietro Laverda in the province of Vicenza (Northern Is Italy),

  • 1905: Transfer of the industrial activity to Breganze, beside Vicenza, manpower exceeds the 100 paid ones. The first reaping-machines are born.
  • 1919 : After the First World War during which the factory converted with the production of military machines, the production of agricultural machinery starts again. The period of the Brevet S also begins.
  • 1930 : The founder yields the management of the firm to his small children - Pietro Jr & G.Battista - which engage a commercial development process and make of Laverda the first manufacturer of Italy.
  • 1934 : Laverda presents the first machine to be mown, Laverda 48A.
  • 1938 : The first reaping-machine sheaf-binder is presented, Laverda ML6,
  • 1947: After the second world war, the production of agricultural machinery reporend and the sales develop in Europe,
  • 1956: Laverda presents the first autonomous reaping-machine threshing-machine M60. The sales exlosent on all the markets, in Italy, in Europe in Asia and South America.
  • 1963 : manpower exceed 1000 paid distributed in 3 industrial sites, Laverda is present in more than 50 countries,
  • 1967: Laverda launches out in the sector of the very large machines with models AFC 110 and AFC 150,
  • 1971: Laverda presents a mloissonneuse revolutionary threshing-machine, the first machine with transverse slopes and longitudinal, Laverda M 100AL.
  • 1973: Laverda celebrates its centenary.
  • 1975 : Laverda continues its development and becomes leader in Europe,
  • 1981: This same year, Laverda launches the construction of a new factory in Breganze and enters group FIAT in FiatAgri division. The reaping-machine giant threshing-machine M182 is revealed, it is the first machine with an electronic control,
  • 1983 - 1992: Laverda becomes the leader in his specialities,
  • 1993: Laverda deposits the patent of the " levelling system" who allows the reaping-machines threshing-machines to work on any ground whatever the declivity. Laverda celebrates its 50.000 ème reaping-machine manufactured threshing-machine,
  • 1999: FIAT NewHolland repurchases American Case. The commission of European competition obliges with new the holding thus created, CNH Global (Box New Holland Global), to separate from Laverda for preponderance on the worldwide market.
  • 2000 : FIAT yields to Laverda regret with the Italian group Argo SpA which has already Landini, celebrates Italian manufacturer of tractors,
  • 2002: After the resumption of Laverda, Argo SpA repurchases McCormick,
  • 2004: Laverda repurchases German Fella,
  • 2006: Laverda launches a new generation, series LCS, general-purpose and equipped with an increased productivity.
