Lavagnac
The castle and field of Lavagnac are located on the commune of Montagnac, not far from Pézenas in the Herault.
This vast domain was before the Revolution the property of the princes of Conti who yielded it thereafter to Jean-Maurice De Faventines of Fontenilles, Farmer general originating in the Vigan in Gard.
The property enters then by the marriage of Marie-Clemence de Faventines-Montredon with Henri-Andre Daudé, knight then Viscount of Alzon in the family Daudé d' Alzon, and by succession with the Chastenet de Puységur and finally with the Suarez d' Aulan.
The situation of the field, which dominates the valley of Herault, as much as its frontage and its terrace imposing were worth the nickname of " to him; Versailles of Languedoc". A splendid boxwood embroidery, works Madam de Suarez d' Aulan, had been added to the whole in the years 1960.
