Lavérune
Lavérune is a common French, located in the department of the Herault and the area Languedoc-Roussillon. Its inhabitants is called Lavérunois.
Geography
Lavérune is located at the west of Montpellier with the territory of which it is joint with the bridge of the secondary road 5 on the Mosson. Lavérune is on Right Bank of this river.The territory of Lavérune is joint of Saint-Jean-with-Védas in the east of which it is separated by Mosson, of Saussan in south-west, Pignan in the west, Saint-Georges-with Orques in the North-West and of Juvignac in the North-East (whose narrow band of territory any access to Mosson with the commune of Lavérune crosses).
The territory of Lavérune is located in the alluvial plain of Mosson and its affluent, the brook of Lassedéron. The relief is flat with more close to Mosson and includes/understands more hills in the west.
The city is near the Western axes carrying out or sailing round Montpellier thanks to the secondary road 5 which also serves the communes of the north of the Canton of Pignan with which Lavérune has inter-commune relations. Indeed, the canton of Pignan and Lavérune belonged to the Canton of Montpellier-8 until its dismemberment during the years 1990, and Lavérune belongs to the Intercommunity association with multiple vocations (SIVOM) Between Vène and Mosson to which the communes of this close canton belong.

The castle of Lavérune and its park in the south of the old village.The castle of Engarran, in north on the road towards Juvignac, is one of the “madnesses” montpelliéraines, one of its wine fields whose main home was rebuilt with high expenses at the 18th century by the middle-class and the local noblesse de robe. The field of Engarran, founded by Henry d' Engarran, sees his madness built by Jean Vassal. The grid of the castle is classified historic building. Jean Vassal bought these grids in 1785 at the town of Montpellier which made use of it to close the Place of the Comedy, after itself to have bought them with the family Bonnier of Mosson, ruined by the construction of the castle of Mosson, another madness located on left bank of Mosson.
The factory of Torrefaction of Coffee of the company Jacques Vabre mark since 1970 landscape: its principal building is made up like a package of instant coffee. The factory is in the north of the city, on the road leading to Saint-Georges-with Orques.
