Lauryn Hill
Lauryn Hill (born the May 25th 1975 in Orange South, NJ) is an American singer Hip-hop and Soul.
She owes her celebrity with the Fugees, of which she was the principal singer then begins off her career solo in 1998 with the album The Miseducation Lauryn Hill . She integrates rap, drunk person, reggae and R&B in her music. With this album it is nominated 11 times at the Grammy Awards in 1998.
Beginning of career and The Fugees
Lauryn Hill attended the school Columbia High School in South Orange in the large metropolitan surface of New York, where it started to sing and play very young age. It meets over there Wyclef Jean, which is his classmate, and his large friend Pras Michel with whom they form the group The Tranzlator Crew in 1988 whereas Lauryn is only 13 years old.The group is then put between brackets by the solo beginnings as an actress of Lauryn then by her entry with the Université of Columbia. In 1998, Lauryn Hill begins off her career solo with the album The Miseducation Lauryn Hill , an album greeted by the criticism which was also one of the most sold albums year and decade. The title of the album was inspired by the book of Carter G. Woodson, The Miseducation off the Negro .
Among the individual ones of the album there is " Doo Wop (That Thing) " , " Ex-Factor" or " Everything is everything". In 2001, it records an album live of new songs, MTV Unplugged No 2.0 . Accompanied only by one guitar, it concentrates more on the message than it wants to make pass, inspired by its political and religious convictions.
In 2004 it makes an appearance on scene in documentary musical of Michel Gondry: Dave Chappelle' S Block Party, reforming for the occasion Fugees at the sides of Wyclef Jean and Pras Michel.
It appeared as a singer in the original soundtracks of the films Conspiracy Theory in 1997 with the song " Can' T take My Eyes Off You" and Divine Secrecies off the Ya-Ya Sisterhood in 2001 with the song " Selah".
Private life
Lauryn Hill has four children, Zion David born in 1997, Selah Louise born in 1998, Joshua born in 2002 and John born in 2003. Her husband, Rohan Marley is not other than the son of famous the Bob Marley. According to the Tmz.com site, Lauryn Hill would await its 5th child.Practicing catholic, it asserts his beliefs: it inter alia fought against the sexual abuses of the priests in the United States.
