" Having been born in Paris, although manufactured in Guadeloupe, I knew this island at the age of thirty-five years. I lived it by procuration by listening to the stories which told me my mother or of the friends guadeloupéens". It grows with Nogent-sur-Marne, close to Paris, where it will make its first " concerts" at the house of young people.
Sometimes one compares it with Paul McCartney, it is an absolute fan of the Beatles although he acknowledges influences which go from Brazil to the techno.
His/her mother was singer and dancer. Musicalement, it makes beginnings stammering in Hellences with the Robson brothers. Then, he becomes the leader of the group the Venus Temple and begins a career solo which has evil to take off. Influenced by pop English of the Beatles, Shadows and Stones, then guitarist and leader of Pascal Danel between 1969 and 1974, he is then noticed for his work of composition with Alain Souchon but it is with " Rockollection ", enormous tube, which it bursts at the great day at the summer 1977.
It then cumulates the careers of type-setter for Souchon, with a number of tubes impressing (" Bidon" , " Hello mom bobo" , " Never content" , " Bagad de Lann-Bihoué" , " Dad mambo" , " Y' has of the rumba in the air" , " The Ballade of Jim" , and of many others still), and singer, in songs with success whose words are signed of Souchon (" Desire désir" (in duet with Veronique Jannot), " The Dream of the pêcheur" , " Nights without Kim Wilde " , " Paradoxical système" , " My Song off You" , " Karin Redinger" , " Capacity of the fleurs" , " Bopper in larmes" , " The sun donne" , etc). In spite of a rate/rhythm of production slow, it always fidélise many people and it obtained in a a whole score of tubes as a singer, with only 5 albums, and more than one about thirty as type-setter for Alain Souchon, although this one writes from now on more and more its musics itself (" Press sentimentale" for example).

The idea of Laurent was to make a light album to listen on the road of the holidays or the beach. Covered by a good media promotion, the album entered directly number 1 of the French charts. This album particularly supports its success on a song worship of the Sixties: " The Baisers" last; who was interpreted at the time by Mike Shannon the singer of the " group; the Sauvages" Cat; in 1962.
It also records an instrumental version of " My Song off You" , accompanied by a symphony orchestra, in duet with the guitar with Jean-Pierre Danel, on the album with success of this last, " Guitar Connection 2".
