Biography
Trained with the Olympic Lyonese, Laurent Fournier begins in the first division the November 8th 1980. It is then old only 16 years, 1 month and 26 days. After eight seasons spent in the capital of Gaules, then two years at the large rival inhabitant of Saint-Etienne, it joined in 1990 the Olympique of Marseilles, then one of all the best European clubs, with which it becomes champion of France and disputes the final of Coupe of Europe of the clubs Champions to Bari against the Red Star Belgrade.After this first and single season under the Marseilles shirt, it joined the Paris Saint-Germain, team of which it will be one of the players emblematic. In 1998, Fournier joined SC Bastia as a player, but is quickly solicited in the course of season to become the trainer of the team. After having involved the young people of Feucherolles, village of Yvelines, it takes in hand the small club of Pacy-sur-Eure, before into 2003 returning to the Paris Saint-Germain to involve the teams of young people. Then the February 9th 2005, it is named trainer of the team first after the dismissal of Vahid Halilhodzic, in order to try to save the season missed by the club. It finishes this half of season correctly, and prolongs the lease with Paris, supported by its players, but in December 2005 it is replaced curiously by Guy Lacombe due to insufficient results (it was 3rd to only 1 point of the second). Following the dismissal of Governed Brouard, Laurent Fournier was named trainer of the Nimes Olympique ( National ) on October 4th, 2007. It signed until the end of season 2007-2008 with an extension by two years in the event of rise leagues 2 of them.
