Appreciations of historians

Simonetta Cerrini

Laurent Dailliez seems a kind of agent 007 in the search of manuscripts, passing from a border with another, of Spain in Italy, while passing by Belgium. Dailliez was however not a historian, but a geologist. In Paris, in the academic mediums such as the IRHT or the EPHE, one does not speak readily about him. Elsewhere, at the university of Nice, with the Vaticane library,…, the reactions are more various, sometimes friendly. … Of other medievists: " an impassioned geologist of history médiévale" , among the scientists of XXème century to have only sought systematically manuscripts of the rules of the Temple. Its lack of rigor unfortunately reduced its results: Dailliez does not quote its sources, or then in an incomplete or erroneous way|in the revolution of Templiers .
