Laurent Blanchard
Laurent Blanchard is the city council man of the district Hochelaga of the district Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve located at Montreal.
Laurent Blanchard is born the November 25th 1952 in the district Mercier with Montreal with the Quebec. He is the heir to the editor of the newspaper of district of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve named the News of the East. He succeeds his father with the direction of this newspaper and he will sell it later with the large media company Télémédia which will be then bought by Transcontinental.
Thereafter, in 1991 he becomes the political attache of the mayor of Montreal, Jean Doré and an owner of rental buildings in the district.
In 1995, he becomes director of a regrouping of people of business dedicated to the development of the east of Montreal, the CEDEST, he also makes some contract near small newspapers with distribution relatively low and this until his election.
In 2005 at the time of the municipal elections of Montreal it is elected city council man for the district of Hochelaga under the banner of the party Parti Vision Montreal directed by the ex-mayor Pierre Bourque. It beats thus the outgoing candidate, the doctor Luc Larrivé who presented himself with the party of the mayor Gerald Tremblay, the Union of the citizens and the citizens of the Island of Montreal (UCIM).
