In 1968, it meets the ethnologist Fred Adler who becomes its first husband and of which it will keep the name for its public life. In 1989, François Mitterrand calls it like adviser with the culture.
It approaches television in 1993 by taking again for France 2 the night emission of cultural debates created by Michel Field, the Circle of midnight , during four years; then on Arte with the monthly emission of talks Allowed to think .
In January 1999, it is named director of France Culture, station whose David Kessler took the succession in September 2005. During this period, it alters in-depth the image and the programming of the chain, in spite of virulent disputes on behalf of several associations of listeners like sosfranceculture or ddfc and some of the journalists and producers of the chain. During these years 1999-2005, on average and according to Médiamétrie the audience day laborer increases but the duration of listening decreases. One will remember that it removed a historical emission of France Culture, Décraqués and put at the retirement office Bertrand Jerome, the producer of the Papous and Décraqués .
Some of its despisers with Radio France, reproached him a utilitarian vision of the Culture and regarded its management as being by too interventionist even characterized by the policy of the reference of elevator.
Criticisms of its action to the head of France Culture also related to the reactivity of the chain to the topicality. The spearhead of its mandate was to substitute for the diffusion of the cultural heritage the decoding of the topicality, taken again and re-sifted throughout the programs. It takes again a time the emission With naked voice , whose principle - series of talks - guaranteed a certain diversity by a system of revolving producers.
In December 2005, it leaves Radio France for purposes to join the group Martinière and to take the direction of the Littérature sector and Documents of the editions of the Threshold. In December 2006, she is laid off of these functions.
She currently presents Studio Theater saturdays of 18:10 to 19:00 on France Inter.
