Laugh
Riez ( Riès in Occitan Of Provence) is a Commune Frenchwoman, located in the department of the Alp-of-High-Provence and the area Provence-Alp-Coast of Azure.
Its inhabitants is called Riézois.
Geography
The hillock formed by the Saint-Maxime mount dominates three valleys which meet with the confluence of two rivers to the modest flow, but which played a strategic role for the development of Laugh: the Colostre, which joined the the Verdon with Saint-Martin-of-Bromines, and its affluent, the Auvestre.Laugh is located thus at the crossing of the historical roads which connect the Alps (via Digne) and the valley of the Durance (via Valensole) to the high VAr and Aix-en-Provence. Touched by the disaffection of these transportation routes at last century, it constitutes today a modest agglomeration of importance whose economy rests mainly on tourism.
Vacation resort in summer, Riez benefits indeed from its situation in the middle of the Regional natural park of the Verdon.

It profits in particular from construction, in the year 3 after J. - C., of a way which connects it to Aix via Draguignan, and which crosses the the Verdon in Garruby.
Its episcopal see, of which saint Prosper was --> the first bishop was, perhaps, Maxime in 434, as its situation privileged with the crossroads between three valleys on one of the major roads connecting the Alps to low Provence then enabled him to preserve this importance during all Middle Ages.
The Middle Ages
It accommodated two Concile S in 439 and 1285.
At the 10th century, juniors by the Viscounts of Marseilles seize Laugh and build a castle there. These noble is called the princes de Riez .

Eight ancient columns of granite surmounted by Corinthian capitals of marble, laid out in circle, surround the baptismal tank, of which there remain only remains. The cupola of the building was remade in XIIe century.
- ancient Colonnade : located near Colostre, four Roman columns, with the barrels of gray granite surmounted by Corinthian white marble capitals, still support an architrave. They are the last vestiges of a temple dedicated to high Apollon towards the end of Ier century a. J. - C.
