Latterman

Latterman was a group of Punk rock'n'roll originating in Huntington, with Long Island, New York.

Signed at Deep Elm, the quartet played a punk energetic rock'n'roll, with the aggressive guitars and the raucous song and sometimes shouted, near to the Melodic hardcore, but Latterman paid also attention to the melodies and the refrains, always involving and favourable with being begun again in chorus. The words seek to be positive, that they treat expensive political topics with the punks: Pacifism, Antiracism, Feminism, etc, or more personnel, like the friendship, engagement within its community or fidelity with oneself. Its first two albums were greeted and encensés by most of the alternate musical press, like Maximum Rock' Roll or Alternative Close with the the United States, like on the specialized sites: a broad compilation of chronicles is consultable on the page devoted to the group on the site of Deep Elm.

Latterman belongs to some young groups, as has Wilhelm Scream which quickly gained the respect of the punk scene by their ethics. They sometimes were compared with Against Me! or with the Bouncing Drunk persons

They carried out a first intensive European round throughout May 2006 and April.

Their last album, … We Are Still Alive , which takes again the same formula which made the success of the group, left on Deep Elm on August 22nd, 2006.

October 18th, 2007, Matt Canino has confirmed in a letter with punknews.org the rumors circulating for a few months, namely separation of the group: “ We were has band for 7 years and it was time to not Be has band anymore.
