Latium

The Latium , or Lazio in Italian, is a Région of populated central Italy approximately 5 million inhabitants, and has like capital Rome. It is delimited by the Toscane, the Ombrie, the the Abruzzi, the Molise, the Campanie and the Tyrrhenian Sea.
Blazon and Standard
The Area of Latium has its own Blason and Standard, recognized by the Regional Law N.58 the 17-09-1984 of the Area of Latium.
Heraldic description of the Blazon
An octagone bordered of gold, inside whose the blazons of the provinces of the area are inserted as follows: in the center, the blazon of the province of Rome and in range, blazons of the provinces of Frosinone, Latin, Rieti and Viterbe, dependant between them by a tricolor ribbon.
Standard (banner)
Of color blue sky bordered of dark marine blue, in the upper part the constant regional blazon of an ear and a branch of oak and surmounted by a finished monochromic gold crown; in the lower part and in the center the gold " inscription; Regione Lazio ", supplemented at the base with a gold fringe. Under the end of the standard a tricolor ribbon (green, white and red), fringed of gold is tied.
History
Latium is inhabited since by the Latin which undergo the Etruscan domination . To fight against this one, they formed the Latin Ligue, which included/understood about thirty cities, of which Alba. To the IV E, Latium was subjected by Rome and its inhabitants became Roman citizens.
Geography
Latium is drained by the the Tiber in north and the Garigliano in the south, it includes/understands three areas geographical. In the east, the Apennin abruzzais (mounts Sabins, Ernici and of the Meta, exceeding all 2.000 m) dominates the valleys of the Sabine which are the area of north, and of the Ciociaria which is that of the south. In the center, a zone of hills lengthens north in the south in the form of ic reliefs Volcan (mounts Albain, Cimini, Volsini), rising above the lakes (Bracciano, Bolsena), or the solid masses limestones (Mont Lepini). In the west, the valley of the Tiber and the Roman countryside announce the littoral, sandy and marshy plain (partly drained in the Marais Pontins).
Demography
With its 5.100.000 inhabitants, Lazio is an important area of Italy. Its density of 378 hab. /km ² is raised and the rate of urbanization (many cities) is too.
Economy
The economy of Latium is based on the Polyculture in the countryside (with the Vignoble S of Frascati), Bovin S in the valleys, Ovin S on the hills, field crop mechanized on the drained grounds of the Marais Pontins. With Rome the Industrie dominates, the area of Latina has the Nuclear plant Foce Verde, factories of pneumatic S, Tabac, Céramique). With Gaète, there is an important refinery of Pétrole, with Civitavecchia it is Cimen tery, with Rieti the synthetic fiber and finally with Tarquinia the Chimie dominates.
Culture
The culture of Latium inherits the Roman culture and Etruscan.

Tourism
Latium is well served in the Transport S and thus receives million tourists and pilgrims because the the Vatican is the capital of the Catholiques.
