Latin cut of football

The Latin Coupe is an international competition of Football which put at the catches at the end of the season the clubs champions coldly crowned of Spain, Italy, Portugal and France. It was disputed between 1949 and 1957.

The test

On very rare occasions, the champion declined the offer and the second of the championship was then invited to dispute the test. The tournament proceeded alternatively in the four countries concerned with semi-finals and finales buckled in a few days. The competition was limited in fact to two matches by club: a semi-final, and a final of classification. The winners of the semi-finals clashed for the profit of the trophy, the losers being satisfied with a final for the third place. It is this same model of competition which is taken again as of 1957 by the Tournoi of Paris, in particular.

All the four editions, a classification of the nations was made, on the basis of result of their clubs at the time of these four editions or " Cycle".

The competition disappeared with the introduction from the Coupe from Europe from the clubs champions.

The winner of the Latin Cut disputed the Coupe Martini Rossi vis-a-vis the winner of the Coupe Mitropa.

French Raymond Kopa is the only player to have disputed three finales, by gaining two.
