A lathe is a Outil of Polissage of glass or sharpening, turning at variable and bearing speed of the wheels of felt or other matters which one coats with a Abrasif. The grinding stones can also be out of stones or made up of an abrasive matter. In these cases, they are used without abrasive paste. The lathe can have " grinding stones with eau" who soak in water during sharpening in order to cool the steel of the sharpened tool and to prevent the Détrempage.
The lathe is also, of 13th at the 15th century, a female cap made up of a veil which recovers the face.
