Latgale
The Latgale is one of the four areas of the Latvia. Located at the south-east of the country, it is delimited in the south by the Daugava which separates it from the Zemgale and is bordered in north by the Vidzeme. The main cities are Daugavpils and Rezekne. Most of the population is Russophone or latgalophone.
Part of this area is today in Russia, in the Région of Abrene.
