Latérocidence of the cord

During a Childbirth, one speaks about latérocidence about the cord when the Umbilical cord of the child positions between the back or the shoulder of the Fœtus and the uterine wall of the mother.

At the time of the uterine contractions of the childbirth, or even simply at the time of a fetal movement, the compression of the cord which results from it involves a reduction in the blood flow in its vessels and, consequently, a Hypoxie (lack of oxygen) of the child, involving anomalies of sound Cardiac rhythm. This accident can be worsened when the quantity of Amniotic liquid is insufficient.

In fact, the diagnosis of latérocidence is done either during the Césarienne practiced for anomalies of the fetal cardiac rhythm, or with expulsion.
