Latécoère 631
The Latécoère 631 was a Hydravion transatlantic civilian. Floret of industry Latécoère, it will be the largest seaplane ever built at its time. The prototype will be taken by German during the Occupation, and bombarded by the allies. The last Latécoère 631 will be withdrawn from the service in 1955 after the loss of the apparatuses n°7 (Latécoère company, lost at sea), 6 (company Air France, lost in the Atlantique), 3 (SEMAF, with broad of the Cape Ferret) and 8 (France-Hydro, with the Cameroun).
Accident
August 1st, 1948 (July 31st) disappeared in the Atlantic Ocean Latécoère 631-06 " Lionel de Marnier" registered F-BDRC with on its board 52 people including 40 passengers. This flight was to connect Fort-de-France to Port-Etienne (Mauritania). According to the sources, it would have been lost with 1200 miles of Dakar. The Coast Guard American Campbell pays to have found remains on August 4th but not of survivors.
