Lasseubetat is a common French, located in the department of the Yrénées-Atlantiques and the area Aquitaine.

The grounds of the commune are sprinkled by the Bayse, which are thrown in the Gave of Pau, and by its affluents, the brooks Baysole and Peyrouse. The brook Courrèges, an affluent of the brook of Labagnère (which is thrown in Bayse) also crosses the territory of the commune.

Toponymy

The toponym Lasseubetat appears in the forms Saubetat (1450, payment of the Majour Court of Béarn), Sanctus Martinus de Lasaubetat (1609, insinuations of the diocese of Oloron), Lasseubétat (1863, topographic dictionary Basque Béarn-Country).
It comes from the Gascon sauvetat who means Sauveté, ground of asylum.
