Lasse Hallström

Lasse Hallström is a realizer and Swedish scenario writer, born the June 2nd 1946 with Stockholm (Sweden).

Biography

After some achievements for the television including one documentary noticed on the famous group ABBA, then a first feature-length film in 1975, has Guy and has Gall ( In kille och in tjej ), Lars Hallström known as " Weary Halström" acquires an international notoriety with My life of dog ( Mitt liv som hund ) in 1985.

The film which tells the history of a little boy forsaken by his sick mother, at the dawn of its adolescence, obtains several prices and is selected with the Oscars. The passion which it generates makes it possible him to get more means and to start a career in the United States. It attracts with him actors of scale of which Johnny Depp which turns with him Gilbert Grape ( What' S Eating Gilbert Grape ), a road-movie in form of remake of the Raisins of anger of John Ford, and the Chocolate ( Chocolat ) which is worth nominations with the Oscars and a success of regard to him.
