Anatomy

The lashes (not to be confused with the Eyebrows) are Poil S, located on the Paupière of the Man and the mammals, which prevent the perspiration and the foreign bodies like dust to fall into the eye.

On the German wikipédia, one can read that the lifespan of a lash at the human being oscillates between 3 and 5 months, and that the higher lashes are more numerous than the lower lashes: from 150 to 200 lashes against 50-150 lashes. They are also longer: from 8 to 12 mm, against 6-8 mm for the lower lashes.
