Lars Ulrich

Lars Ulrich is the beater and one of the creators of the group of Thrash metal Metallica. It was born the December 26th 1963 with Gentofte (Denmark).

Biography

The father of Lars, Torben Ulrich, was a player of professional Tennis. He was also Musicien, and had played with great names of the Jazz such as Stan Getz and Miles Davis. The godfather of Ulrich was another legend of the jazz besides, Gordon Right. He pushed Lars Ulrich to learn the jazz being child. In February 1973, Torben Ulrich obtained five places (intended for four of his/her friends and him) for a concert of Deep Purple, at the stage of Copenhagen. Learning that one of the friends could not come, Torben decided to make benefit from the concert its young person wire, old then 9 years. The Ulrich young person was very impressed by the service of the group, and bought the album Fireball the following day. He launched an advertisement to seek a Guitariste, and some James Hetfield answered it: one of the most outstanding groups of the history of the Thrash metal had been born. The two leaders will never leave the group, and will ensure the renewal of its members. Lars Ulrich became famous for his play of battery, very physical, and its hammerings fast. It is indeed one of the essential components of the group. The popularity of the group owes him much, in particular thanks to its interesting techniques such as the double low machine-gun in the song “One” (… And Justice for All) and with the fulgurating intro of “Enter Sandman” (Black Album).

Social life

Ulrich was married twice. He divorced his first wife, Debbie, during the creation of the group in the Eighties. In March 2004, Ulrich separated from Skylar Satenstein, after 7 years of Mariage and of which it had two wire, Myles (born on August 5th, 1998) and Layne (born on May 6th, 2001). He currently lives with the actress Connie Nielsen. Their first child, Bryce Thadeus Ulrich-Nielsen was born on May 21st, 2007. Lars is also a large amateur of Article.

Ulrich played of the battery with the group Mercyful Fate for the re-recording of the song “Return off the Vampire” in the album In the Shadows.

Johnny Crass also mentioned some Ulrich in song “Internet Sandman”, a parody of the song of Metallica “Enter Sandman”.
Ulrich is a large fan of the rock group Oasis. In November 2006, the Canadian magazine " Exclaim! " published an interview of the guitarist No5el Gallagher d' Oasis. Gallagher refers several to Ulrich, like this one: “Lars Ulrich? It one is crowned guy, I really like it, because it is strange. It is a strange man, really strange. ”
Lars recently played of the battery at the time of the round " Guns Pink Chinese Democracy Tour" 2006 at the time of the piece “Out Your Get Me” to close the concert.
