Lars Roberg

Lars ( Laurentius ) Roberg is a Médecin and researcher in Anatomie Swedish, born with Stockholm the January 24th 1664 and deceased with Uppsala the May 21st 1742.

In 1678, Lars Roberg is student with the Université of Uppsala. In 1685, it embarks for a long voyage which leads it in Germany, in France, Great Britain and to the Netherlands. In 1689, he becomes doctor of medicine with the Université of Leyde. After having taught the anatomy in Stockholm, it ends up obtaining a pulpit of anatomy and practical medicine with Uppsala, in 1697. In 1700, in a preoccupation with medical improvements in education, it is at the origin of the creation of a polyclinic depending on the medical college. In 1708, it founds also the Nosocomium academicum , future University hospital of Uppsala.

Lars Roberg left many scientific writings, in particular Lijkrevnings tavlor (the first handbook of Swedish anatomy) in 1718, Characteres morborum in 1729, CLIII aphorismi chemici in 1733 and Artis chirurgicæ conspectus brevis in 1740. In 1715, it is also the first to publish a description of fossil Swedish.

Lars Roberg was famous for its knowledge of the Latin and its talents of Illustrateur. It was also one of the professors of the naturalists Carl von Linné (1707-1778) and Peter Artedi (1705-1735).
