Larry Wall (born the September 27th 1954) is the developer of the Computer programming language Perl. He is also the original author of the software:
- RN ( read news ) of consultation of news;
- Patch, of total update of a source.
It gained IOCCC twice and received in 1998 the Prix for the development of the free software of the Free Software Foundation. He currently works with the specification of Perl 6, recasting major of the language.
Beyond its technical skill, Larry is known for the humor which shows through in its Source code, in its publications, and which it sometimes uses on Usenet.
Larry is Linguiste of formation. Joint author of Programming Perl (often called Camel BooK) - reference for programmers Perl - it also Co-published books such as Perl Cookbook . All the books which he wrote or Co-writings are published by O' Reilly .
