Larry Lalonde

Larry " Ler" LaLonde (born the September 12th 1968 with Richmond (California)) is an American guitarist member of the group Primus with Claypool and Tim Alexander. He also played with Frank Zappa.

Biography

Beginnings

At the origin inspired by guitarists like Frank Zappa, East Bay Ray, Jerry Garcia, Jimi Hendrix, and its professor Joe Satriani, LaLonde is interested then in the pioneers groups of the Thrash metal like Metallica and Slayer. LaLonde creates its first group with the college, a group of Speed metal called Blizzard . Larry leaves then the group to join the group of Death metal of first generation Possessed. Their first album, Seven Churches , leaves in 1985 whereas LaLonde is only 17 years old.

Possessed leaves two albums to the success more limited before dissolving in 1987. LaLonde joined then the group of thrash experimental metal Blind Illusion for an album, The Sane Asylum in 1988. It is at this time that Larry binds friendship with Claypool, which invites it to replace Todd Huth in its own group of Funk metal Primus.

Primus

With LaLonde on scene, Primus records their first album live, Suck One This in 1989, followed album studio Frizzle Fry in 1990, then Sailing The Seas Of Cheese in 1991. Their next album, Pork Soda , lands with signal 10 of the Billboard magazine in 1993. Tales from the Punchbowl arrives in 1995, with the most known title of Primus, Wynona' S Big Brown Beaver , which is nominated for the Grammy of the best performance rock'n'roll in 1996. The two following albums, Brown Album (1997) and Antipop (1999), are less success, and groups it makes a pause in 2000.

For this period, LaLonde creates the alternative experimental group No Forcefield with the third member of Primus Brian Mantia, which leaves two albums between 2000 and 2002. Primus meets in 2002 with the beater of origin Tim Alexander, and leaves the DVD/EP Animals Should Not Try To Act Like People in 2003 and one live DVD, Hallucino-Genetics in 2004. Larry LaLonde currently prepares an album with Primus.
