Larry James

George Lawrence " Larry" James , born the November 6th 1947, is old a American Athlète and Olympic champion.

Double medal-holder of the Olympic Games of summer of 1968 of Mexico City, Larry James also established several world records during his career. James gained the money in Mexico City with a time of 43" 97, improving the existing record but being still beaten by its compatriot Lee Evans (43" 86). It also gained gold with the relay 4 X.400 m which improved the world records into 2 ' 56" 16. This record lasted until 1992.

James also has establishes the record of the 400 m in 44" 1 while placing second behind Evans at the time of the trials in 1968. But the time of Evans which ran with not approved points had not been recognized by IAAF.
