Larry Gelbart

The picodon is a French cheese of the Drome in area the Rhone-Alps. It profits from a AOC since 1983. Its name derives from the language of oc and means “pricking”.

It is a small cheese containing goat's milk, with fresh paste, of an average weight of 100 grams. The race of goats used is the Alpine one tawed and also Saaneen.

Its period of optimal tasting is spread out April at August, but it is also excellent from March to October. It is about a cheese with a rather dry paste, and can be tasted fresh out of salad or refined. The experts prefer it marinaded in the olive oil raised of aromatics and grass.
