Larry Carlton
Larry Carlton is a guitarist of Jazz and Blues American born on March 2nd, 1948 with Torrance, in California. Parallel to its career solo, he plays on the albums of many groups, and is even member of some of them. This musician was rewarded during his career for 3 Grammy Awards including one for the topic of the series Capitaine Furillo (1981). Carlton started to learn the guitar at the 6 years age. Its play is influenced by that of Joe Pass, Wes Montgomery, Barney Kessel and B.B. King. During the Years 1970, Carlton was a musician of studio much in demand on Los Angeles, appearing on to 500 albums per annum, of which those of Steely daN, Joni Mitchell, Billy Joel and Quincy Jones. Its participation on the album The Royal Scam (1976) of Steely daN will mark the spirits, in particular that on the title " Kid Charlemagne" which will appear 3rd in the list of the best solos of guitar ever recorded on a disc established by the American magazine Rolling Stone. From 1971 to 1976, he is member of the Crusaders and in 1997, he replaces Lee Ritenour within the Supergroupe of Smooth jazz Fourplay. The famous mark of guitars Gibson created a model with the effigy of Larry Carlton named Mr. 335 , the nickname of the musician.
