Large Theater of Quebec

The Grand Theater of Quebec is a Complexe Artistique and Culturel Nation Al located in the Ville of Quebec and including/understanding two theaters, of Théâtre and opera like several hearths. Since 1971, it is managed by the Société of the Large Theater of Quebec , which has for Mandat to support the Rayonnement Performing arts. It produces and present spectacles and sees with the administration of its establishment.

Conceived by the Architect Victor Prus, it joins together three component superimposed: large a Room (room Louis-Fréchette), a smaller Auditorium (room Octave-Crémazie) and a Conservatory of Music (CMQ), in addition to cabins, workshops, rooms of repetition, costumes and of exposure, and offices. The unit is due on the initiative of Jean Lesage, Prime Minister for Quebec, which proposed in 1963 with the Prime Minister of Canada, Lester B. Pearson, to share their resources in order to build in Quebec a Monument commemorating the Centenaire of the Confédération.

The Large Theater accommodated a considerable number of Canadian artists and foreign of Réputation Internationale as well as famous companies of theater, Danse and opera and Variétés. The Symphony orchestra of Quebec, the Conservatory of music of Quebec, the musical Club of Quebec, the Opera of Quebec and the Théâtre of the Trident hold to with it in particular their regular demonstrations.
