Large Gaîté
Large Gaîté is the third collection of poems published by Aragon. Its title returns, by antiphrasis, contrary to what determines its contents: marked, indeed, of a major pessimism, volume expresses, in a poignant way, a vision of the world and of the man extremely negative. Here combines the amorality antibourgeois and anticlerical of the thirty years Aragon with an individualism pushed with the extreme.
These poems which, crossed by an upsetting sadness, go from squeaking derision to the brutal confession, were written in the years 1928 and 1929.
