Large Éclectus
The large éclectus or éclectus ( Eclectus roratus ) is a Perroquet originating in the the Solomon Islands, of New Guinea, the North-East of the Australia and Moluques.
Particular case at the Psittacidés, it presents a sexual Dimorphisme marked. The males have a nozzle color coral, a green plumage with red and blue feathers on the level of the wings and tail. The females have a black nozzle, a red plumage on the level of the head and tail, blue on the level of the chest and nape of the neck. These differences led the first Ornithologue S Europeans meeting them, to regard them as distinct species (Joseph Forshaw, Parrots off the World ).
Food
The éclectus, as all the parrots nourishes fruits, nut and seeds. Its preferred fruit is the grenade but it nourishes majority of the fruits: mangos, figs, guavas, cherries, bananas, melons, stone-fruits (fishings, plums,…), citrus fruits, pears, apples. Not to give them in captivity of lawyers, green salad, of chocolate or parsley. The hazel nuts are disadvised in their food.

Only species of sound ( Eclectus Wagler, 1832), large the éclectus was sometimes brought closer to the loriinés , but the last tests DNA seem to confirm its relations with the other Australian parrots (psittacinés).List subspecies
