Larbi Ben Me hidi

Mohamed Larbi Ben Me hidi was born in 1923 close to Ain Me lila in an easy rural family. It made its primary studies at the French school where it obtained its Certificate of studies, then undertook secondary studies with Biskra.

He worked then as accountant with the service of the Civil engineering of Biskra, then settled with Constantine where he was close to the Association of Oulémas and in particular of Moubarek el-Mili. Ben hidi adhered to Me with the movement Friends of Proclamation and Freedom (AML) founded by Ferhat Abbas and took part in the congress of March 1945.

The massacres of the May 8th, 1945 showed its will to continue its clandestine activities. It adhered to the Mouvement for the triumph of the democratic liberties (MTLD) and to the Special Organization (OS) in which also took part Ben Bella, Has Ahmed and Mohamed Boudiaf (of which he was the assistant).

In April 1954, Ben hidi was to Me one of the 9 founders of the C.R.U.A who it on October 10th 1954 transformed the CRUA into FLN and decided dated November 1st 1954 like dates from the release of the armed struggle for Algerian independence.

In 1956, he became member of the National council of the Algerian Revolution; he was close to the ideas of Abane Ramdane and Krim Belkacem. The first was assassinated with the Morocco at the end of December 1957, the second with Frankfurt on October 18th, 1970. It took part in the organization of the first attacks of the Bataille of Algiers.
