Laqueuille

Laqueuille is a common French, located in the department of the Puy-de-Dôme and the area Auvergne.

Geography

The borough is located on the escarpée edge of a volcanic plate (basaltic Orgues) at more than 1000 m of altitude overhanging the valley of Miouze. The hamlet of Laqueuille-Station is to approximately 3 km more in the west at an altitude of 950 m on other side of the valley.

History

Belonged to the seigniory of the Rochefort at the 12th century, depend on the dolphins of Auvergne.

At the origin, the commune was crossed by the imperial road n°89 which became RN89. In 1990 a deviation was installation and the access to the highway has 89 is done by exchanger 25 (Saint-Julien-Puy-Lavèze).

The station of Laqueuille is located on the southern connection of the line PO Lyon-Bordeaux and comprises the junction towards Bourboule and Mount-Gilds It.
